This month we are highlighting Claire Eggert! She is one of the real estate agents at Loxley Martin and a good one at that. If you are looking for someone who is full of personality, has your best interest in mind, and will make sure to get you what you want, she is your girl!

Why did you choose to work for Loxley Martin?

I started as an independent agent and it wasn’t taking me where I was hoping it would.  I decided to give the team dynamic a try and it has proven to be one of the best decisions of my life.

What is your favorite part about working in real estate?

I love helping people buy homes when they never thought they’d have the means to (not a high enough credit score, not enough money, too much debt, etc).  Seeing how excited people get during their final walkthrough helps me to thrive and remember why I wanted to get into this business.

What would you tell first time homebuyers?

Find a Realtor you can trust before you start looking around.  That way, if your Realtor gives you suggestions for mortgage lenders, home inspectors or anyone else for that matter, you can be assured that he/she is looking out for your best interested rather than their own.  Choose to work with someone you can form a bond with and communicate well, as you will both need to be responsive throughout the purchasing process.

What would you tell people about the Dayton housing market right now?

The market is HOT and moving so very quickly.  If you aren’t pre-approved for a loan or financially ready to make the purchase before you begin looking at houses, you will end up disappointed.  Many homes are being sold for over asking price, and some to buyers who haven’t even seen the home yet because they don’t want to miss out.  If you’re in the market to buy, make sure you and your Realtor are diligent about looking at homes as soon as they come on the market to avoid losing your possible dream home.

What are your hobbies when you are not selling homes?

I enjoy exercising and couponing in my spare time.  (It saves ridiculous amounts of money!)

What is your family like?

I have a fiancé and a 6 year old daughter.  The joy I feel by caring for them financially and emotionally gets me through the Real Estate “off season”.  There are certain times of the year where everything just slows down almost to a snail’s pace, but my family keeps me motivated and always pushing to find those who need my assistance.

If you are ready to sell your current home and get into the one you have been dreaming about, give Claire a call!
